Bob Russo helps people navigate their lives to find peace, purpose and meaning. Together we discover more opportunities to truly be engaged in life and reach greater potential. Together we identify stressors, blocks and limiting beliefs that keep clients from reaching their greater success.
This 3-hour workshop, “Leadership Styles”, is designed to educate the participants on the variety of leadership styles available to them and to examine which styles are best suited to them. The participants are encouraged to focus on the leadership styles they currently exhibit and those they would like to begin using more often, how these styles impact their effectiveness in leading others, and then to develop a strategy to develop the most effective styles for them.
The workshop will review and explain the seven common leadership styles. Through a series of exercises, the participants will discover obstacles that commonly keep people from becoming the best leader they can be. Once they have identified their obstacles they will learn techniques to remove them to become better leaders.
Attendees will examine their leadership roles and the leadership styles they use in each of these roles. We will discuss strategies to transition to new, more effective leadership styles.
Next, the workshop will review an important assessment tool often employed by coaches–the Energy Leadership Index (ELI) – and explain its benefits. The ELI measures a person’s attitudes, perceptions and perspectives of the world. These attitudes, perceptions and perspectives influence how they interact with the world and with others – and influence whether the interactions are inclusive and mutually supportive, or whether they are limiting and self-serving. These ways of interacting, which can vary throughout the day, are referred to as energy levels. No one’s energy level is constant throughout a day. Energy levels commonly shift from minute to minute. Working with a coach enables one to enhance awareness of one’s energy levels. This awareness is a prerequisite for shifting energy levels in a positive direction.
By the conclusion of the workshop, attendees will develop an action item that will be their first step to evolving a more effective leadership style. They will identify a partner from the attendee group who can keep them accountable for accomplishing this action item.
The overall goal of the workshop is for attendees to improve their self-awareness of leadership styles and to develop tools to improve their leadership skills and styles.
Who is Bob Russo?
Bob Russo is a certified executive coach. He received his coach training at the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (IPEC). He earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Psychology. He is also a Master Practitioner of the Energy Leadership Index assessment (ELI) – a powerful coaching assessment tool.
Bob worked for 33 years at IBM corporation, 20 of those years as a Project Manager. He is a Certified Project Manager, certified by the Project Management Institute (PMI).
Bob uses a wide-ranging approach to coaching, and has coached individuals who seek clarity and focus in career, relationships, finances, and personal growth.
His philosophy is that the coach does not provide the client with answers or solve their problems. The answers to questions and problems lie within the client. The coach empowers and guides the client to recognize impediments to their progress, such as stress and a strong ego. Once they recognize these impediments, the client is encouraged to develop their own solutions. Robert believes that honesty, accountability and empowerment are essential for a successful coaching relationship.
Bob Russo uses coaching techniques to identify the power of the client’s ego and to help the client recognize how their ego impairs their ability to identify and use all opportunities available to them. The coach skillfully motivates the client to critically examine their perceptions, attitudes and behaviors and learn how these affect their ability to achieve their goals.
